What if X happened instead of Y? Questioning is not a skill educators learn in college. It is developed and perfected with experience and practice. When we ask a divergent question, we need enough uncertainty to force students to fill those gaps in as best they can. This naturally leads to different students making different choices and going in different directions (the definition of divergence). Participants in this session will learn about the difference in divergent questioning and convergent questioning and how to apply this in the classroom.
