Early abuse and neglect can teach children to engage in functional survival behaviors. When children start to feel anxiety, pain or hurt, or even sad, guilty or ashamed, they escape those feeling by blocking them or becoming numb. Often what survives are anger and rage expressed in the form of aggressive or problematic behaviors which can cause the behavior to impede the students education. This presentation will provide teachers with resources and tools to help their student(s) cope with these blocked or negative emotions.

Don't we all want our students to vocabulary rock stars?? YES we do!!! Don't we want to have a way to load work at one time, see real time work, make corrections on the spot, chunk, chew, check, and do it all with less stress?? Of course we do!!! WE have the tool right here to do this. Vertical learning is one a great way to get students engaged however, we don't always have the time to set up materials. BUT, we can do an alternative method. We can learn how to do vertical learning teaching which will advance students to think deeper, more critical and encompass group work. The best part is that it is fun for the kids, saves automatically, easy assessment for teachers and able to be used for any subject and/or grade. How about we learn how to do this? Let's GOOOOOOOO!!!!!
